Director of CCYLA
Lindsey Wynne joined The Law Office of Michella Melton in 2019 and practices family law and criminal defense. Lindsey attended the University of Texas at Austin for undergraduate, where she was a Texas Excellence Scholar and obtained her Bachelor of Business and a Minor in Spanish. She pursued her law degree at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, which included studying and serving as a member of the Domestic Violence Clinic at the law school, where she handled complex family law matters for victims of domestic violence.
In 2008, Lindsey began her legal career as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney for Collin County. As a prosecutor in Collin County for nearly 10 years, she worked in the Misdemeanor, Felony, Crimes Against Children, Civil Asset Forfeiture and Mental Commitments, and Juvenile Divisions. She prosecuted a very wide range of offenses ranging from misdemeanors such as a driving while intoxicated and assault family violence, to complex felony offenses, including arson, murder, sexual assaults, intoxication manslaughter, physical and sexual offenses committed against children, and aggravated offenses. She has tried over 100 cases to juries during her career as a prosecutor. Her passion for education and desire to help at-risk youth led her to transition to juvenile prosecution so she could help better educate and assist in the rehabilitation process, so kids have the necessary tools and information to make better life decisions. She continues to volunteer with organizations that educate youth on the dangers of social media and poor decisions, which may result in criminal charges. She has been a featured speaker for state-wide campaigns educating on the dangers of social media and has been a guest speaker and conducted trainings at youth forums, schools, and with law enforcement agencies.
This experience is instrumental in Lindsey’s practice of family law and criminal defense. Observing the impact of the home life on a child and how it can impact their future, it is paramount that divorce and child custody issues be handled appropriately and by the right attorney.
